Double Digits!!!

Hailey is now 10!!!

Hailey with her birthday cake.

I can't believe my baby girl is now 10.  She is growing up into a beautiful girl inside and out.  Hailey wanted to have a small party and sleepover this year with just some of her girlfriends.

Hailey had 4 friends over.  Nikki, Lilly, Olivia & Eve came over Saturday night and the girls just had fun being girls.  Hanging out in her bedroom, listening to music and just having fun.

The next morning, Sunday the 10th, her actual birthday.  I got up early and surprised Hailey with decorating the the living room and dining room with hot pink and black streamers and balloons.  We also had a hot pink table cloth and zebra striped plates, cups and napkins for cake time.

The girls took the rest of the streamers and thought it would be fun to wrap Hailey up.

The girls had fun hanging out in the morning and then we had pancakes, fruit and smoothies for breakfast.  Then they all went outside to play and visit with the animals.

They all made their own pizza's for lunch and then we sang Happy Birthday to Hailey and had cake.

I decided to make Hailey's birthday this year. I think it came out pretty good and it tasted delicious.

Once cake was done Hailey finally got to open her gifts.

She got mostly money from her friends and other family.  Drew got her some new t-shirts and Jamie & I got her a charm bracelet, which she has been wanting for a long time.

We are so proud of Hailey.  She is a wonderful daughter.  I love how she makes us laugh when she is acting silly and I love how she always thinks of others, not just herself.

Happy Birthday Haileybales!!! We love you!!

Report Cards

Drew and Hailey got their first report cards of the year a week or so ago.

Both of the kids did absolutely wonderful and we are so proud of them.

Drew

Science            A
Math                A
English            A
Reading           A
Social Studies  A

Hailey

Science             B
Math                 A
English             B
Reading            A
Social Studies   A

Hailey was a little bummed about the 2 B's.  Especially the English mark since it was only 1 point away from being an A.

We told her that as long as she is trying her hardest then she is doing great.  She said she is really going to try even harder this period to make all A's.

The kids took their report cards to Dairy Queen over vacation for their free meal.  For all A's you get a hamburger, fries and drink. Four A's you get a fry and drink and one A you get a drink.  You also get the meal if you have perfect attendance which Hailey had so she was able to get a full meal too.

Check back in 9 weeks to see how they do on their next report card.

Kids & Sports

Football is finally over for Drew.  It was such a busy season.  Practice schedule was Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and games were on Thursdays.

The season didn't go so well. They actually didn't win one game but the boys played their hearts out and did a good job.

Here are some shots of Drew playing. He was number 4 this year.

Drew has decided not to play any other sports this year so I'm sure he will be playing football again for next season.

Hailey is right in the middle of her soccer season.  She is playing for the
Y again on the same U12 team as last year.  Her team is doing great.  They have either won or tied for all of their games so far.

Hopefully they will go to the championship again this year and win.

Kids First Day of School

3 1/2 weeks behind on my postings but I guess better late than never.

Hailey & Andrew, 1st day of school 2012

This year Andrew is going into 7th grade.  Hailey is going into 4th grade which is a big step because 4th grade is middle school here.

The kids have been in school for 3 1/2 weeks now and they are both doing great!!

The middle school has a new site on the computer that I can go on and check the kids grades. It is awesome.  I can see each assignment, what grade they received for the assignment or test and then also the grade average up to that date.

Andrew currently has all A's in all of his grades and Hailey has mostly A's and a couple of B's.  I'm sure the longer they are in school the better their grades will be.  Once they have been back into a routine for awhile will help and also getting used to the amount of work they are getting.  Andrew and Hailey are both getting much more class work/homework than what they had done their previous years.

Here's a couple more pictures of the kids from their first day.

Hailey Graduates Elementary School!!!

Kayla, Hailey & Jade, best buds

Wednesday was Hailey's graduation from 3rd grade.  She will be moving on up to the middle school next year.

It was so cute.  It was planned just like a real graduation.  The kids had caps & gowns.  Walked in procession and performed a few songs for us.

Hailey's grade singing, I can't get the video to rotate

After all the sweet songs and poems, each child's name was called and they got to walk across the stage and receive a medallion from the school's principal for their graduation.

The ceremony was very sweet.  The kids were super excited AND they didn't have to finish out the school day or come back to school for the last 2 days of the school year.

All of the 3rd grade class

We went to Hailey's room and signed her out and got the actual paper diploma and her report card.  Once again she got all straight A's.

We are so proud of Hailey and all she has accomplished this year academically.  We know that moving up to the middle school is a big step but we are confident Hailey will be ready and do as well next year as she has this past year.

Way to Go Hailey!!!!  We Love You!!!!

Hailey Loves Soccer!!!

Hailey had her second soccer game this past Saturday.  They won the game 2-1.  The best part is Hailey loves to play and its fun for her.  She continues to play right wing  offense and does well in that position.  We are really proud of her and how hard she works to continue to grow in her favorite sport.

Here is Hailey with her soccer team mates.

She was excited that she was chosen to be captain for this game.

Hailey's Party - She turns 9

Last Saturday we had Hailey's birthday party with her classmates and friends.  She decided to choose to do a gymnastics class.

She didn't end up having many people there, not sure why. Many people didn't RSVP so I wasn't able to get a count on who was coming.

With that said there were 4 of them there and they had a BLAST.  She was kinda happy because she got to spend more time doing things in the class then waiting for it to be her turn if there had been too many kids.

She had a yummy cake and picked out the design and colors herself.

Hailey and the kids had a great time, here are some pictures.

During the class they did a few games to warm up and that was with another party.  Then they got to use the trampoline and the swinging rope.  Next was the obstacle course and then finally was the foam pit that they could run and jump into or use the high bar to swing from.

They all had a great time.

Hailey turns 9.

Happy Birthday to Hailey!!!

Hailey with her little doggie cake

I have to start off by saying that Hailey is the sweetest girl.  She is a wonderful daughter, sister and friend.  She has the best manners and always remembers to use those manners.  We just love her personality. She loves to be girlie with wearing jewelry and buying shoes but she still doesn't mind to get down and dirty when she wants.  Perfect example is she loves to wear her fake fingernails but doesn't think twice about helping with the chores we do here around the farm.  Hailey has a bit of sassy in her but its a fun sassy. She is very independent and loves to try new things and learn new things.  She is very smart and also a hard worker with school or anything else she tries to do.

She is definitely an animal lover and all the animals love her, she seems to have a special bond with all of them.  Hailey also gives the best hugs.  She is beautiful inside and out and we are so proud of our Haileybales.

Hailey's birthday was Saturday and she turned 9.  I have no idea where the time has gone, my sweet little girl is growing up so fast.

We always go out for lunch or dinner for the birthday person, their choice.  This year Hailey picked Buffalo Wild Wings for her birthday.  We went earlier in the week and of course Hailey got a bacon cheeseburger, one of her favorite foods.

The morning of her birthday she crawled into bed with me and Jamie and of course Jamie proceeded to tease her with her birthday spankings.  Drew actually woke up pretty early and we all went downstairs so Hailey could open up her gifts.

She got exactly what she asked for, 4 new t-shirts, a new pair of dressy flip flops, jewelry -a new necklace and lots of earrings and of course her favorite fake fingernails.

Hailey chose to do the morning chores with Jamie and I, which she usually does every weekend. She loves the animals so much.  Then had breakfast, which by the way was a bowl of Cookies and Cream ice cream.  That was a first, no way do I normally let the kids have ice cream for breakfast, but she had already eaten it by the time I got back into the house.  Oh well, it was her birthday.

She then wanted Jamie to take her shooting.  So Jamie took her out back and she practiced shooting the BB Gun at empty cans and target sheets.  She is a great shot.

In the afternoon Hailey then spent sometime playing with Drew and spending time out in the pasture with me, Drew, all the goats, Matilda and Chelsea.  We also went to the store so Hailey could pick out a small cake for us that night but she also picked out her big cake for her birthday party with her friends that she will have this Saturday.

We ended up having Ian & Troy over, which was nice to have some kids here to sing Happy Birthday after dinner.

The boys also ended up sleeping over for the night and all the kids had fun and enjoyed playing.

Here are some pictures of Hailey on her birthday.
