Kids & Sports

Football is finally over for Drew.  It was such a busy season.  Practice schedule was Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and games were on Thursdays.

The season didn't go so well. They actually didn't win one game but the boys played their hearts out and did a good job.

Here are some shots of Drew playing. He was number 4 this year.

Drew has decided not to play any other sports this year so I'm sure he will be playing football again for next season.

Hailey is right in the middle of her soccer season.  She is playing for the
Y again on the same U12 team as last year.  Her team is doing great.  They have either won or tied for all of their games so far.

Hopefully they will go to the championship again this year and win.

Our Break is Over.

Sports have started up again!!

Our break is over and I actually couldn't be happier.  Hailey had her first soccer game of the season this past weekend.

Hailey is playing for the YMCA again on the same team as last year, U12.  She has lots of the same teammates, which she loves and the same coaches as last year too, which is great.  I love when kids move along with the same coaches.  The child knows what is expected from them and the coaches also can see the child develop and help them improve on what the kids need to work on.

Our first game went well with only having 1 practice beforehand.  It ended in a tie 2-2.  Hailey played most of the game on offense, right wing.

Hailey, 1st game

The schedule for this team isn't too bad.  One practice a week plus games on the weekends.  Season goes till the end of May.

Drew just got all his information for football.  He will be having a helmet and shoulder pads only practice the week of April 16th.  Then they will take a break so the kids can focus on TCAP testing.  We have a parents meeting at the end of April which will give us move information in regards to summer practices and games.

Drew will be playing for the middle school team since he will be going into 7th grade next year.  I've been told that his schedule for football will be very busy.  It will be nice for him to get back into the swing of things with sports since he decided to take a break and not play baseball.

We are already getting him into shape having him run up and down the hill every night.  Conditioning is important to being a good player here as it gets very hot during football season.

Can't wait to see what the season brings for both of the kids teams.

Football

Drew is playing football here for Jackson County.  He has made lots of friends on his team.  Practice is only 2 nights a week and then games on Saturday's.

The Demon's, name of the team, have already attended a scrimmage against Livingston.

Then the team hosted this years Tri-County Jamboree.  This jamboree was bigger than any I've ever attended. I believe it was 8 different town's/county's that attended and participated.  Our team did 3 separate scrimmages on Jamboree day.  Hailey and I got to work the concession stand for a couple of hours.  It was very busy but we ended up making lots of money to go directly to our own football teams and cheerleaders.

The Demon's have also played 2 games.  First was against Baxter, with a win going to us, 20 to 6.  The next game was against Cannon County, with another win going to us, 40 to 0.

Drew is currently playing defense and kicking teams for all of the game and partial play time for offense.
The best part beside Drew playing and enjoying the season so far is Jamie coaching Drew and his team.

Hopefully the Demon's will continue on their winning path and we will have a great season.
