Report Cards

Drew and Hailey got their first report cards of the year a week or so ago.

 

Both of the kids did absolutely wonderful and we are so proud of them.

Hailey was a little bummed about the 2 B's.  Especially the English mark since it was only 1 point away from being an A.

 

We told her that as long as she is trying her hardest then she is doing great.  She said she is really going to try even harder this period to make all A's.

 

The kids took their report cards to Dairy Queen over vacation for their free meal.  For all A's you get a hamburger, fries and drink. Four A's you get a fry and drink and one A you get a drink.  You also get the meal if you have perfect attendance which Hailey had so she was able to get a full meal too.

Drew Is One Smart Boy!!!

Drew finished up 6th grade this past week and of course is moving onto 7th grade next year.

Jamie, I & Hailey headed over to Drew's school on Wednesday afternoon to attend Drew's school's Awards Day.

Drew received two awards.  His first award was a certificate for achieving a 98 on the TCAP state wide testing for Social Studies.

He also received a plaque for achieving all A's for the year.

These are the two awards that Drew received on Awards Day.  After the ceremony we were able to get his report card. Of course we knew he had all A's again from the plaque that he received. We are super proud of him and so happy he got such great grades this year.

Along with the awards he got he also was invited into the Beta Club.  The Beta Club is a private club in school that invites students who achieve and keep a 95 or above grade average.

We all went to the Beta Club induction on Friday morning.

Each member received a certificate, membership card and pin.  Drew will need to keep is grade level for all classes at a 95 or above in 7th grade or he will be asked to leave the club.

We can't wait to get the newspaper as they were there taking pictures and it will be published in the local newspaper either next week or the following week after.



Hailey Graduates Elementary School!!!

Wednesday was Hailey's graduation from 3rd grade.  She will be moving on up to the middle school next year.

It was so cute.  It was planned just like a real graduation.  The kids had caps & gowns.  Walked in procession and performed a few songs for us.

After all the sweet songs and poems, each child's name was called and they got to walk across the stage and receive a medallion from the school's principal for their graduation.

The ceremony was very sweet.  The kids were super excited AND they didn't have to finish out the school day or come back to school for the last 2 days of the school year.

We went to Hailey's room and signed her out and got the actual paper diploma and her report card.  Once again she got all straight A's.

We are so proud of Hailey and all she has accomplished this year academically.  We know that moving up to the middle school is a big step but we are confident Hailey will be ready and do as well next year as she has this past year.

Straight A's Again!!!

The kids got their report cards and they both got straight A's again.  We are so proud of them and how well they are doing in school.  I'm glad to say also that Hailey has completely caught up with her reading and is doing extremely well with it.  Hailey has started to be interested and read books on her own.  I have always loved to read and hope that Andrew and Hailey will both continue to enjoy reading.

The school year has been great so far and we only have one more quarter left before the year is over.  Andrea & Hailey will both be taking TCAP (TN testing) equivalent to MCAS (MA testing) this month.  TCAP test results are actually figured into their grade for the year.  The schools do a really good job with helping the kids prepare for the testing and I'm sure both kids will do fine.

The kids were happy about getting straight A's because in their school's they have a reward system with DQ.  With straight A's you get a free hamburger, fries and drink. The reward system is for each quarter. So of course we went to DQ for them to get their free meal.
