The babies are getting so big. Cole & Carter both weight 30lbs. I have now started separating them from Priscilla at night and putting them in the stall. I give them a bucket with grain in it and they get to eat as much as they want if they get hungry instead of nursing. This also helps to wean them from their mom which will get them ready to go to their new homes.
Chloe is only 20lbs. I leave her with mom overnight still. Hopefully since she doesn't have to fight with her brothers to nurse that she will gain a little more weight. Once she weighs a little more I will separate her also from mom at night and get her on grain too.
I offer her grain now in the creep feeder but for some reason none of the babies like to go in there very much. I think they would just rather nurse from Priscilla.
Their heads have completely healed from the disbudding and the caps have fallen off. Their heads are nice and smooth and the hair that we shaved off has grown back in. Their ears are completely healed from the tattooing also.
We only have a few more weeks with these babies until they are ready to go to their new homes.
